Climescape all condition fleece technology was inspired by Nature and utilized nanotechnology to replicate the natural water-repellency of plant surfaces, providing protection from rain, sleet and snow, while maintaining the natural comfort of cotton.
Unlike some topically applied durable water repelling products, Climescape all condition fleece utilizes NanoTex, nanotechnology to transform the molecular structures of fibers, resulting in fabrics that offer unsurpassed repelling performance. By working at the nano-scale, these enhancements provide amazing functional improvements without compromising the natural characteristics of the fabric, like hand, drape, and most importantly breathability. Although it repels liquids, moisture vapour passes through the fabric where it dissipates into the environment, keeping the wearer dry and comfortable.
Nanotechnology enables the technology to permanently bond with the individual fibers of the fabric, causing rain, sleet and snow to bead and roll off. NanoTex laboratory testing confirms only a 3.5% wet pick-up after 2 hours of continuous rain, making it the highest rating in its class.
The molecular transformation which takes place during fabric development, allows Climescape garments to regenerate repellency with the use of a hot iron, which is an advantage to some DWR products which simple wear off and have to be re-applied with home applications.
And because the environment is extremely important to all of us, we choose a technology which replaced traditionally used Fluorocarbon polymer with PFOA free hydrocarbon polymer.
